By choosing to work with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, you can take comfort in knowing what comes with one of the industry’s most prestigious certifications.

CFP® professionals must agree to abide by the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics which requires certificants to practice financial planning with fairness and integrity.  We agree to make recommendations that are based on your needs.

But the requirements don’t end there…

CFP® certificants must complete a rigorous course of study and complete a 10-hour exam testing nine areas of financial planning:

  • General principles of financial planning
  • Insurance planning
  • Investment planning
  • Income tax planning
  • Retirement planning
  • Estate planning
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Professional conduct and fiduciary responsibility
  • Financial plan development (capstone) course

In order to maintain a high level of competence in an ever changing industry, we are also required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education every two years.

The Financial Planning Process:

  • Establishing and defining the client-planner relationship
  • Gathering client data, including goals
  • Analyzing and evaluating the client’s financial status
  • Developing and presenting financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives
  • Implementing the financial planning recommendations
  • Monitoring the financial planning recommendations
